The United States (US) on 3 November 2014 became the partner country for Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor Summit 2015.
US will be the eighth country to partner the event. Other partner countries include UK, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Singapore, South Africa and Japan. The members of US India Business Counsil (USBIC) and CEOs of Fortune 500 companies will also be taking part.
So far, US refrained itself from previous sessions of this biennial business event as it had banned the Visa of former Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2005 for alleged violation of religious rights during 2002 communal riots.
Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit in United States in September 2014, the US government sent a proposal to Gujarat government showing interest in becoming partner country for the Gujarat Global Investor Summit which will be inaugurated on 11 January 2015 at Gandhinagar.
