USA and Russia agreed to end Syria Violence in Talks on Sidelines of G-8 Summit

G-8 meetingOn sidelines of the 39th G-8 meeting in Northern Ireland, USA and Russia on 18 June 2013 agreed to end violence in Syria, though they have a different stance. Both nations are united by the common intention to end the violence, to stop the number of victims increasing in Syria and to resolve the problems by peaceful means.

US and Russia agreed to push for a summit in Geneva and also agreed to meet in Moscow in September 2013.Both nations stated, they are optimistic on Iran, after its Presidential elections.

Russia is considered Syria's closest ally and it has been providing weapons to the Assad regime while US and western countries want Bashar al-Assad to step down.
