The Uttarakhand state Cabinet cleared the draft of Public Service Bill and proposal regarding illegal possession of assets by public servants. Under the proposal, special courts will be set up for corruption cases against public servants and the wealth illegally amassed by them will be seized by the state government. The proposal also mentions that the alleged public servants will also be given an opportunity to make their clarification.


The state cabinet also approved the draft of the Right to Public Service bill, which seeks to provide the common man public service like, electricity connection, ration card, driving licence and birth and death certificates within a specified time frame.


Besides Uttarakhand , Bihar, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh has decided to confiscate wealth and property acquired by public servants through illegal means.
