The Indian government has decided to celebrate January 23rd as 'Parakram Diwas' every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and inspire the youth of the country with his spirit. 

2. (c) Kiren Rijiju
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has been given the additional charge of the AYUSH Ministry. This follows the hospitalization and treatment of AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik following a severe road accident. The arrangement will continue till Naik resumes his work related to the Ministry of AYUSH.

Karnataka retained its position as the most innovative major state in the country in the India Innovation Index 2020 released by NITI Aayog on January 20, 2021. Karnataka scored 42.5, followed by Maharashtra at second place with a score of 38 and Tamil Nadu at third place with 37.91 score. Bihar was ranked last in the index with 14.5 score.

Kamala Harris created history on January 20, 2021 by becoming the first female, African-American and Asian-American to be sworn in as Vice President of the United States. Her husband Doung Emhoff has also become the first-ever 'second gentlemen' of the United States.

The Gujarat state government has decided to rename dragon fruit as "Kamalam", which means Lotus in Sanskrit. The renaming has been done as the outer shape of the fruit resembles a lotus.

Sri Lankan bowling legend, Lasith Malinga has decided to retire from franchise cricket. He was a part of the Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League. The speedster had informed his decision to the Mumbai Indians management earlier this month, making himself unavailable for the champion side's retention wish list.

12. (d) The Gabba
Injury-hit Team India created history on January 19, 2021 by beating Australia by three wickets in the fourth and final Test at The Gabba and retaining the prestigious Border-Gavaskar trophy. India claimed the series 2-1. This was Australia's first defeat in 32 years at their fortress, The Gabba.
