Mother Teresa's 111th Birth Anniversary was commemorated on August 26, 2021. She was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje. She came to India in 1929, where she worked at St Mary’s High School for girls. She soon realized that her calling was to help the poor and underprivileged.

Javelin Thrower Tek Chand has been named as India's flag bearer for the opening ceremony of Tokyo Paralympics 2020 today after Mariyappan Thangavelu was identified as a close contact of a Covid Positive person in his flight to Tokyo. The Tokyo Paralympics Opening Ceremony will get underway today, on August 24, 2021.

Sakina Khatun will become the first female powerlifter to represent India at the Paralympics.
10. (d) Japan
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) plans to launch an explorer in 2024 to land on the Martian moon Phobos to collect 10 grams (0.35 ounce) of soil and bring it back to Earth by 2029.
