Gurbani maestro Nirmal Singh Khalsa passed away due to coronavirus in Amritsar on April 2, 2020. He was received Padma Shri in 2009 for his contribution in Gurbani music. He was detected COVID-19 positive just a day before his death.

Arogya Setu is India's first comprehensive COVID-19 tracking application. It was launched by the central government on April 2, 2020. It will help people get connected to medical services and will also inform regarding the risk of COVID-19 exposure.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has approved Arogya Sanjeevani Insurance Policy, which is a standard and uniform product that will enable more people to get health insurance coverage. It can be available by anyone above the age of 18 years and up to the age of 65 years.

The government has appointed BP Kanungo as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of one year with effect from April 3, 2020.
NASA has launched SunRISE mission to study the giant solar particle storms that impact the solar system. The mission will include six CubeSats, which will operate as a large radio telescope.
The centre has established PM-CARES Fund ( Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund), a public charitable trust, to provide relief to all those affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
