Women’s World Cup 2013: K V Singhdeo Resigned from Organising Committee
K V Singhdeo on 22 January 2013 resigned from Organising Committee of the Women Cricket World Cup matches in Cuttack, protesting against Pakistani players.
K V Singhdeo on 22 January 2013 resigned from Organising Committee of the Women Cricket World Cup matches in Cuttack, on the grounds of protest against the participation of the Pakistani players.
The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), on 21 January 2013 named K V Singhdeo as a member of the Organising Committee which was formed so that the matches at Cuttack could be conducted successfully. K V Singhdeo, the leader of the BJP Legislature Party in the assembly is supporting the decision of Sangh Parivar for opposing participation of the Pakistani players in context with the beheading of Indian jawans on LoC.
In the meanwhile, the senior leader of BJP, Arun Jaitley cancelled his visit to Odisha. Jaitley was supposed to attend the Netaji Birth anniversary function at Cuttack. It is important to note that Jaitley was among the vice-presidents of Working Committee of BCCI which allowed Pakistani players for participating in the matches.
