COMEDK or “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” is an autonomous institution comprising of senior academicians and reputed administrative officers who organise testing procedures to shortlist candidates in the field of Medical and Engineering.  It is a state level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering, medical and dental colleges in Karnataka. COMEDK entrance test began in 2004-05 and since then it has been conducted annually for admission to undergraduate courses that are conducted by 16 Medical, 24 Dental and around 190 Engineering Colleges. Aspirants clearing the exam are eligible for admission into undergraduate Engineering courses run by participating institutes. Admission into the undergraduate Architecture course will be based on candidates’ ATA score.

COMEDK UGET Important Dates 2020

COMEDK UGET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions at engineering, medical and dental colleges in the state of Karnataka must fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteria in order to appear for COMEDK UGET exam:

  • Candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).
  • Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology for appearing in the entrance test for B. Tech courses.
  • Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions
  • The qualifying examinations for admission for Bachelor of Engineering is 10+2 HS or 2nd PUC or any equivalent examination recognised by Central/ State government; however, the last two years of study must comprise of subjects including Chemistry, Physics and Maths with English as a mandatory subject.

COMEDK UGET Application Process

The application window for COMEDK UGET 2020 exam will open in the first week of January, 2020. Interested and eligible candidates can register for COMEDK UGAT Exam only through online mode on the official website i.e. comedk.org. Candidates must enter their full name, e-mail ID, mobile no., and the courses for which they wish to apply.

After successful registration, candidates will receive unique USER ID and Password on their registered email id & mobile number. Aspirants are advised to provide a valid and functional email id so that they do not miss out on any important developments taking place with regards to the exam.

COMEDK UGET Application Fee

Applicants can make the payment of the application fee through online mode only. An application fee of Rs. 1500 + convenience charges applicable must be paid at the time of registration. The application fee is same for all candidates irrespective of their category. COMEDK UGET 2020 application fee can be paid through payment gateways via Net banking, Credit Card and Debit Card. The application fee varies every year and is constantly updated at the official website. 

COMEDK UGET Test Centres

COMEDK UGAT exam is organised in 140 cities across different states of India. A candidate can choose three test cities as per their preference during the registration process. Candidates must note the desired test city/ centre is subject to availability. Also, the test centre chosen by the candidate will not be changed later under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are advised to carefully select any three test cities. The allocated test centre will be mentioned on COMEDK UGET Test Admission Ticket (TAT).

The list of test centres is subject to change every year. The university holds the right to increase or remove any of the test centres motioned in the list as per the decision of the consortium.

COMEDK UGET Test Admission Ticket (TAT)/ Admit Card

The Online Test Admission Ticket (TAT) is usually released in the first week of May every year. COMEDK UGET TAT 2020 will be available online. Candidates will need to login to their account in order to download the admission ticket. Candidates are required to enter their respective Application Number/ User ID and Password. Candidates are also advised to download the admit card and further take its print out as it is a mandatory document that needs to be carried to the examination hall.

Candidates must retain the admission ticket until the admission process is complete. The online test admission ticket can be printed only within the deadline decided by the Consortium. Therefore, candidates are advised to print out the admission ticket as soon as it is made available online.

All the candidates much check for following details on the admit card:

  • Name of the Candidate (as mentioned in the application form)
  • Candidate’s address and contact details (same as in the application form)
  • Candidate’s photograph (same as in the application form)
  • Test centre details
  • Test timings
  • Unique ID proof details
  • Provision for sticking passport size photograph (box)
  • General instructions on the admit card

In case any of the abovementioned particulars are missing in the admit card, candidates must immediately contact the authorities. It is advised that candidates preserve COMEDK UGET Admit card carefully because there is no provision of furnishing a duplicate copy of admit card it gets damaged or lost. Candidates must preserve the admit card till the admission process in not completed.

COMEDK UGET Exam Pattern

Before registering for the COMEDK UGET 2019 exam candidates must check the exam pattern of the entrance exam. This will help them understand the test structure, exam duration, type of questions and marking scheme among others and hence prepare accordingly. The medium of the engineering exam will be English only.

COMEDK exam comprises of 180 questions worth 180 marks, indicating that each correct answer will receive 1 mark. The test has three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Questions in the test will be drawn from these three subjects and candidates will have 180 minutes i.e. 3 hours to complete the online test.

The best part of the online test is that there is no negative marking in the paper and it is a computer-based test. COMEK UGET entrance exam consist of objective type questions.

There will be 3 questions paper out of which it is mandatory for all candidates to appear for the Physics and Chemistry entrance exam paper. However, the third paper will be based on the course preference selected the applicant in the registration forms. This indicates that BE (Bachelor of Engineering) aspirants will take the Mathematics paper whereas MBBS/BDS aspirants’ aptitude will be tested via Biology test.

COMEDK UGET Exam Syllabus

COMEDK UGET exam does not have any predefined syllabus. The online entrance exam is based on what a candidate has learned in 10+2, 11th and 1st and 2nd PUC classes. However, below we bring to you the exam syllabus of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics;

Aspirants can prepare these topics to score a high percentile in the exam. These topics are based on the past trend from where questions are featured in the exam to test the aptitude of the candidates. The university may add or remove some topics as per the decision of the board.

COMEDK UGET Result

The result of COMEDK UGET 2020 exam is declared online in the fourth week of May. The COMEDK UGET Result 2020 will be declared online on the official website of COMEDK. Before releasing the result, the conducting body will first release the provisional answer keys post which candidates will be able to challenge the answers. After receiving the challenges, a final answer key will be published online soon after which the test scores of COMEDK UGET 2020 exam will be declared online.

The COMEDK UGET Result lets exam takers view their test scores and after the result, the authorities announce the cut-off score secured by each candidate.

Aspirants can access their COMEDK UGET result by visiting the official website. All they need is their login credentials to view the result after it is released in the online format. After the result announcement, candidates are called for counselling session on the basis of the rank and scores they obtain in the entrance exam. In order to participate in the counselling session, candidates must register themselves on the official website after viewing their result. Counselling session will be conducted in offline mode only at Bangalore or other venue decided by the exam conducting authorities.

Candidates must note the COMEDK UGET Result 2020 will be delivered online only. The conducting body will not send the result by post to any individuals.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Cut-off

The cut off of COMEDK UGET exam is the minimum marks determined by the consortium and its participating institute. Candidates must score equal or above the cut off set by the participating institutes. No candidate will be offered admission if he does not score above the cut off. Each participating institute will release their set of cut offs separately for each branch based on several parameters such as difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, applications received and category of a candidate.

COMEDK UGET cut offs is released once the exam is declared. The cut-offs is released only for students who would have cleared the exam. COMEDK UGET cut-offs comprises of an opening and closing ranks for colleges that accept COMEDK UGAT scores. This indicates that aspirants falling under a particular rank can apply to the colleges that accept the aspirants in that range in order to seek admission in participating institute.
