According to the schedule provided on the official website, the IBSAT 2021 Selection briefing will be conducted from January 8 to 16, 2022. The IBSAT 2021 selection process is a standardized process that every candidate must follow to get admission. The selection process has been kept to ensure that the suitable candidates are screened by the University to grant admission to the MBA programme that is conducted in the 9 campuses of IBS at Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Dehradun, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune. The selection process is expected to commence in February 2022 and shall continue till March 2022.
So here is the complete list of tests and trials that aspirants will face before getting shortlisted for IBS campuses.
IBSAT Selection Process
After the IBSAT MBA entrance exam and result announcement, shortlisted candidates are called for the round of selection briefings. Selection Briefings are basically seminars which that aims to provide insights about the MBA programme and practices that are followed at IBS. During the briefing sessions, candidates are expected to understand the academic culture and values of IBS. Selection Briefings are generally conducted at 40 locations in the month of January. Thereafter, IBS aspirants are required to undergo a further selection process.
IBS Selection Stages
Candidates who qualify for the IBSAT2018/ CAT/GMAT®/NMAT by GMAC are called for the Selection process at the IBS Hyderabad campus in the month of February for another round of selection. The second round of selection comprises of:
- Group Discussion (GD), and
- Personal interview (PI)
Candidates who clear the GD&PI round finally make it to the IBS and can seek admission to the MBA course.
Candidates need to follow these 4 steps before they appear for the GDPI round conducted at various centers in the country.
Stage 1: Slot Booking
Candidates who score minimum cut-off marks are required to book their slots for getting a call to the further rounds of selection at IBS.

Stage 2: Selection Briefings
The selection briefings of IBS are conducted across various cities of the country in the form of seminars in which candidates are introduced to the culture of IBS. Candidates are required to choose the venue, date, and time according to availability.
Stage 3: GD-PI round at IBS Hyderabad
After the selection briefing, candidates are required to visit the IBS Hyderabad campus to appear for the GD-PI round. Those candidates who do not appear for this round will not be considered for the final call of Admission by ICFAI University.
Stage 4: Final Merit List
Candidates who appear in the GD-PI round are then shortlisted and a final merit list is prepared. Aspects such as past academic performance, performance in Gd and PI are considered in preparing the merit list of the selected candidates.
