JEE Main 2023 Exam

Candidates can download the JEE Main Result 2023 for session 2 that has been released by NTA on 29 April 2023. NTA conducted the JEE Main session 2 exam on 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 April 2023 on its website. The top 2,50,000 candidates will be able to appear for the JEE Advanced exam for which the registration begins on April 30th.

What is JEE Main Exam? 

JEE Main 2023 exam is an entrance exam that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the selection of candidates into B. Tech/B.E/B.Arc/B.Planning. A candidate who qualifies the JEE Mains exam is eligible for taking admission in NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs of the country. In addition to this, a candidate who appears in the top 2,50,000 is eligible to appear for JEE Advanced exam which is used for admission into IITs, IISc and other prestigious institutions of the country.

Any candidate who has passes his/her class 12th in the year 2022/2021 or is appearing in 2023 is eligible to appear for JEE Main 2023. There are two papers for JEE Main, Paper 1 is for the candidates who wish to take admission in B.Tech/B.E. while Paper 2 is for those candidates who wish to take admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses. JEE Main session 1 result has been released. The exam date for JEE Main session 2 is on 06, 08, 10, 11 and 12 April. 

JEE Main 2023 Answer Key

National Testing Agency has released the JEE Main fina answer key and response sheet of JEE Main 2023 exam for April session on 24 April. To access JEE Main answer key 2023, candidates will have to log in with their application details and date of birth. Initially, the provision JEE Main answer key was released and candidates will be given the facility to raise objections in online mode. Based on the objections raised by candidates, the final answer key has been released after verification. 

JEE Main 2023 Session 2 Registration

NTA has released the JEE Main 2023 application form on its official website for Session 1, i.e. January session. Candidates have to complete the JEE Main registration process. In case of different sessions, candidates will have to fill out different JEE Main 2023 application forms for each session. The JEE Main registration consists of - registration, filling up of application form with personal and academic information, uploading of documents, application fee payment and submission of the application form.

Steps to fill JEE Main Application Form

Step 1 - Go to the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in.

Step 2 - On the homepage, click on the link of JEE Main Application Form. 

Step 3 - Now, click on New Registration and fill in the required details and click on submit button to complete the registration. 

Note: After the completion of JEE Main registration, aspirants will receive an email and a message on their registered mobile number and ID with details of application form number and password. They are required to save the details of registration very carefully.

Step 4 - After registration, candidates will be redirected to fill out the detailed application form. They will have to provide details of education qualifications, address of communication and permanent address, parent details, and the exam centre preferences.

Step 5 - Further, they will have to upload a scanned image of passport-size photograph and signature as per the defined dimensions and size.

Step 6 - Lastly, they need to pay the JEE Main application fee through Net banking/UPI, Debit Card/Credit Card. 

Step 7 - After the successful payment of the fee, the application form will be automatically submitted.

Step 8 - Candidates are advised to download the filled application form and take the printout. The form must be kept safely until the admission process is completed.

All the candidates who apply for JEE Main must ensure that they have paid the application fee as per their category for their forms to be considered by the Commission.

NTA has released the JEE Main session 2 notification PDF on its website on 15 February 2023. Candidates can apply for session 2 JEE Main exam from 15 February to 12 March. Prior to this, JEE Main Session 1 notification was released on 15 December 2022. JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for JEE Main exam must reach the venue before the mentioned reporting time in JEE Main Admit Card.

No one will be allowed to enter the exam centre after the gate closing time. Candidates will also not be permitted to leave the exam hall before the exam concludes formally.

Candidates must carry multiple copies of their JEE Main Admit Card along with any other required document at the exam centre.

Students must follow the instructions as presented by the Center superintendent or invigilators.

Blank paper for the rough work and pen/pencil will be provided to the students at the exam center. They are required to write their name and roll number on the assigned section of the sheet which will be returned to invigilator.

Candidates claiming PwD reservations must carry the PwD certificate to the exam centre.

Candidates will be required to enter the details in the attendance sheet, paste photograph and put signature at the designated place.

JEE Main Result 2023

JEE Main result 2023 is expected to be released in the 2nd week of February 2023 for session 1. Candidates will be able to check their result by visiting the NTA website and download their scorecard. The result consists of the candidate’s AIR, percentile, marks scored, etc. The top 2,50,000 candidates of JEE Main will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. The best of two attempts will be considered by NTA or preparation of JEE Main 2023 result.

JEE Main 2023 Eligibility

Candidates are required to ensure that they fulfill theJEE Main eligibility criteria before appearing for the national-level engineering entrance exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE Main eligibility for the candidates to appear in the entrance exam. JEE Main eligibility criteria include the details of the basic parameters that a candidate should meet in order to be eligible for the exam.

NTA has released JEE Main exam centre along with the notification. The JEE Main 2023 exam is going to be held in 399 cities in India and in 25 cities outside India. The choice of the exam centre is based on the candidate’s permanent address and present address. A candidate is given four preferences to select the exam centre to appear for JEE Main 2023 exam.

JEE Main 2023 Exam Pattern

JEE Main exam pattern has been notified by NTA along with the official notification. No new changes have been made in the exam pattern. JEE Main exam is divided into paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is for BE/BTech and Paper 2A for B. Arch and Paper 2B for B. Plan. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. According to JEE Main exam pattern, Section-A is multiple-choice questions and Section B is questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value.

Candidates, under Section-B, will have to attempt any 5 ques out of 10. There will also be negative markings for both Section A and Section B. According to the NTA JEE Mains 2022 information brochure, “It has been decided to provide choices in one section of each subject of Paper 1 and Part-I of Paper 2A and 2B to cater to the decision of different Boards across the country regarding the reduction of the syllabus. However, the total number of questions to be attempted will remain the same (Physics – 25, Chemistry – 25, and Mathematics – 25), wherever applicable.”

For the aspirants preparing for the upcoming JEE Main 2023 exam, sample papers are a great source to gather relevant information about the exam. JEE Main 2023 cut off is the minimum percentile score that the candidates who appeared for JEE Main exam will have to secure to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced exam. JEE Main Rank list 2023

NTA releases the JEE Main rank list 2023 along with the result. The rank can be checked on NTA website by logging in using the candidate’s registration number and password,

JEE Main rank list is important as the participating institutes will use the rank obtained by the candidates to offer admissions into the opt courses. In the rank list, the authorities will compile the NTA scores after the normalization process of marks secured by the candidates. While preparing the rank list, the best of four scores will be considered by the exam agency.

JEE Main Counselling Process 2023

The JEE Main Counselling Process is conducted for admission to the NITs, IIITs, IITs, and GFTIs will be organized by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates qualifying in JEE Main 2023 have to register themselves for JoSAA counselling for admission to the preferred institutes. Those who appeared in JEE Advanced will also have to register themselves for JoSAA for admission to IIITs. The process of counselling registration will be done online and the seat allotment will be based on the All India Rank of candidates.

JEE Main 2023 Seat Allotment

JoSAA will release the JEE Main 2023 seat allotment results in online mode at its official portal. Only those candidates who will complete the JoSAA registration and choice-filling process will be considered for JEE Main seat allotment process. As an online JEE Main counselling 2023 will be conducted by JoSAA in several rounds, JEE Main Seat Allotment will also be announced accordingly. After each round of seat allotment, candidates will be provided with a particular window to decide whether they will accept the admission or proceed for next round. Candidates will have to select out of float, freeze, slide or withdraw during the seat allotment process of JEE Main 2023.

JEE Main Participating institutes

JEE Main 2023 Participating institutes are those colleges that participate in JoSAA counselling for admission in Engineering, Architecture and Planning courses. Apart from the participating institutes, many colleges also offer admission on the basis of the JEE Main score but are not part of JoSAA counselling. Such colleges organize their own separate counselling process for the admission. In India there are total 25 IIITs, 31 NITs and 19 other GFTIs that participate in JoSAA counselling for admission to engineering courses.

JEE Main 2023 Admit Card

JEE Main admit card is released by the NTA on its official website on 3 April for session 2. Candidates would need to login using their JEE Main application number and date of birth. JEE Main admit card will consist of the details such as the address of the exam center, exam date and time, candidate’s name, picture, signature and the details of the paper. Without carrying the admit card of JEE Main, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
