National Board of Examinations (NBE) is responsible for conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduation (NEET PG). It is a national-level medical entrance exam held for admission to Masters of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Postgraduate Diploma. The postgraduate level entrance exam is held for admission to 50% state quota seats, 50% All India Quota and 100% seats central and deemed universities. NEET PG 2020 exam aspirants must satisfy the eligibility requirements of the entrance exam before applying for the same. As per the NEET PG eligibility criteria, a candidate must possess a valid MBBS degree from a recognized body such as Medical Council of India.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduation (NEET PG) is the single entrance exam for admission to PG Diploma, MD and MS Programs across the country. However, the below mentioned colleges are not covered for admission through NEET PG:

NEET PG 2020 aspirants must satisfy the following requirements in order to be considered for admission;

  • Candidates must have an MBBS Degree or provisional MBBS Passing out Certificate that is recognized according to the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
  • In addition, they need to have permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification that must be issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council
  • Candidates also need to have completed one year of internship before March to apply for NEET PG for that respective year.
  • Candidates who have passed MBBS from J&K state are not eligible for 50% All India Quota

NEET PG 2020 Application Process

In order to fill the NEET PG application form successfully, candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps: 

Registration Process: First of all, candidates need to visit the official website, click on the registration link and enter the basic details such as name, phone number, postal address and father’s name. In addition, candidates need to upload their recent colored photograph and digital signature on the profile page.

Complete the NEET PG application form:  After candidates have created their profile, they will have to select the NEET PG link from the drop down menu. There, candidates need to enter details such as their Nationality, Date of Birth and Category.

Payment of the application fees - After the aforementioned steps are completed, candidates will have to make the payment of the application fee. The application fee can paid through Credit/Debit Cards or Net Banking. After the successful payment of application fee, candidates will receive a verification email at their registered email IDs, and admit cards will send to their email address within 24 hours of the application fee payment.

NEET PG Admit Card 2020

NBE will release the admit card of NEET PG exam online on the official website of NEET. The admit card will be available in online mode. As per the NEET PG 2020 important dates, the admit card is likely to be available in the end of December 2019. In order to download the admit card, candidates will have to visit the website, navigate to the admit card button, and fill in the requisite details. It is an important document that candidates must carry with them at the time of examination without fail. Those who didn’t receive their admit cards must contact at the helpline number of NBE. Upon receiving the admit card candidates must paste a recent passport size image on the admit card. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without a valid admit card with passport size image.

NEET PG 2020 Exam Pattern

NEET PG is an online exam with objective type questions, wherein the question paper will comprise 300 MCQs and the total time duration to complete the exam will be 3 hour and 30 minutes. There are no negative marking for incorrect answers. The weightage given to the MCQs will be indicative and based purely on provision. National Board of Examination reserves all right to alter the exam pattern.

NEET PG - Results

As per the important dates of NEET PG 2020 exam, the result is expected to be declared in the fourth week of January, 2020. Only those candidates who qualify the NEET PG exam will be able to download their scorecard. The NEET PG Results will be declared online on the official website of NEET. The result will indicate the rank obtained by candidates in the NEET. Candidates can check the NEET PG result in the following ways:

  • The results will be made available online in pdf format
  • Candidates will have to submit their login credentials in order to check the results

After completing all the steps, candidates will have to fill in few details to download their admit cards.

NEET PG – Cutoffs

Along with the NEET PG Result NBE will also release the cutoffs required to qualify the entrance exam. A candidate must obtain equal or above the determined NEET PG cutoff in order to be eligible for admission.
