National Testing Agency, the NEET exam organising body has officially declared the NEET UG exam date 2024 on its website. The NEET exam 2024 will be held on 5th May 2024 in pen and paper mode. The candidates who will be taking the NEET exam must ensure that they are aware of the exam date as it will let them prepare for the exam. NEET 2024 scores allow candidates to take admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BSc nursing, and BVSc seats, including AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS seats in merit list.

What is NEET Full Form?

Candidates should know that NEET full form is the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test. It is a national-level entrance exam that is held once a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for candidates who are 12 passed/appearing. By qualifying this exam, a candidate is eligible for admission into MBBS, BDS, BAMS and other medical courses across the country. NEET was first held in the year 2013. Prior to this, it was known as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). Furthermore, before 2019, the NEET was conducted by CBSE.

NEET 2024 Notification

National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) is a national-level entrance examination that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into undergraduate courses of MBBS, BDS, BAMS and other medical/paramedical courses in India. The exam is held annually by NTA in 13 languages in various Indian and foreign cities. 

NEET notification 2024 will be released in March 2024. The notification consists of the important events related to the exam such as eligibility, exam date, application date, syllabus, exam date, etc. NEET exam consists of a total of 200 multiple choice questions (180 applicable questions for an attempt) for a total of 720 marks. 4 marks are awarded for every correct answer while a negative marking of 1 mark is there for every incorrect answer or if more than one option is marked. NEET 2024 Application Form

Candidates keen to appear for NEET 2024 exam should note that NEET application form will be released in online mode on NTA website. Candidates will also be given the facility to correct their application form in case they have entered incorrect information in their NEET application forms. In addition to this, one must also ensure that they have uploaded the required documents in correct size and format and have paid the requisite amount of the application fee to avoid rejection of NEET application form. Steps to Fill NEET Application Form 2024

• Visit the NEET 2024 exam official website - www.neet.nta.nic.in
• Click on the tab that displays NEET application form 2024.

Here is the template of the NEET UG form of the previous year for your reference. 

• Register yourself for NEET exam by entering details such as name, contact details, password, etc. to generate the application number and password
• Once the credentials are generated, login using those and fill out the NEET application form by entering your educational qualification, personal details, exam city preference, etc.
• Upload your photograph, signature and other documents in the NEET UG application form. 
• Lastly, verify all the denials and pay the required amount of the application fee to successfully submit the NEET application form 2024.

NEET 2024 Application Form Correction Window

Applicants of NEET 2024 exam have the option to make corrections in their NEET application form by visiting NTA website. The correction window will be active for 3 to 4 days after the NEET registration process gets closed. NEET application form correction facility will provide the candidates to edit the following details.

NEET Eligibility Criteria

NEET eligibility criteria consist of fulfilling the age limit, educational qualification and nationality. NEET UG aspirants are advised to go through the following given parameters to know if they are eligible to apply for NEET exam 2024 or not.

NEET Age Limit

The age limit or age criteria for NEET candidates are as follows:

• The minimum age limit of a candidate applying for NEET exam as on 31 December 2024 should be 17 years.
• There is no upper age limit for NEET 2024 exam.

NEET Educational Qualification:

Applicants should fulfill the following given NEET educational qualifications that have been mentioned below:

• A candidate should have passed his/her 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized board. 
• He/She should have obtained at least 50% in Class 12th Board exam.

NEET Nationality

The candidates who belong to the following categories are eligible to apply for NEET exam 2024.

Number of Attempts for NEET

There is no limit on the number of attempts to appear for NEET exam. A candidate can appear as many times if he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria.

NEET Exam Pattern

NEET exam pattern has remained the same as that of last year. NEET exam is held in offline mode in 13 languages. There are three subjects in NEET exam, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for a total of 720 marks. There shall be a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in NEET exam. Out of the three subjects, Biology has the maximum weightage. Each question is for 4 marks while a negative of 1 mark will be there for every incorrect answer. How many languages are there in NEET exam?

NTA shall conduct NEET 2024 exam in 13 languages in offline mode. Candidates who opt to appear for the NEET exam in English, Hindi and Urdu can appear for the exam in any exam city in India. However, the candidates who choose to take NEET exam in the other 10 regional languages will have to appear for it from that particular state where the language is extensively used. NEET 2024 Syllabus

NEET 2024 syllabus consists of three subjects that are Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany+Zoology). The syllabus for NEET remains the same as that of class 11 and class 12, however, one must have a deeper knowledge and understanding of all the concepts in it as the difficulty level of the questions will be tough. NEET Cutoff Marks

NEET Exam Analysis 2024

NEET 2024 Answer Key

NEET answer key is released by NTA in a few days after the completion of the exam. NTA releases NEET answer key in two stages. It firstly releases the provisional answer key and later on a final answer key. The provisional answer key allows the candidate to raise an objection against it if any. Later on, a final answer key along with the NEET result is released after NTA has scrutinized the objections raised by candidates. 

NEET 2024 Result

NEET UG result will be declared by NTA on neet.nta.nic.in, cnr.nic.in as well as ntaresults.nic.in. Candidates will have to log in to the official website of NTA to download NEET result. The result contains the candidate’s NEET score out of 720, overall percentile, All India Rank, qualifying status and cut off score. 

NEET 2024 Admit Card

NTA has officially released NEET admit card on its official website. NEET admit card shall have important details present on it such as the candidate’s name, exam centre address, reporting time, etc. You must keep the NEET 2024 hall ticket until the completion of the admission process. NEET 2024 Counselling

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the NEET 2024 counselling for the 15% All India Quota while the State authorities will conduct NEET counselling for the 85% state quota seats. Candidates will have to register themselves online to participate in NEET counselling. The NEET counselling is done in four rounds and the number can be increased or decreased as per the NEET vacancy. 

Once the registration is completed, the candidates will have to fill and lock seat choices. After this process, the set allotment result will be announced. If a candidate accepts the seat then he/she will have to accept the seat and go for institute reporting or else they can wait for seat upgradation and the next round.
