UPPSC Prelims Syllabus 2024
The UPPSC Prelims syllabus consists of two papers, General Studies and CSAT. The Prelims exam is held for screening candidates for the Mains exam. The details of the UPPSC syllabus for Prelims is given below in the table.

The UPPSC Prelims syllabus for General Studies consists of the following given topics.
Current events of national and international importance
On Current Events of National and International Importance, candidates will be expected to know about them.
History of India & Indian National Movement
In History, the emphasis should be on a broad understanding of social, economic and political aspects of Indian History. In the Indian National Movement, the candidates are expected to have a synoptic view of the nature and character of the freedom movement, the growth of nationalism and the attainment of Independence.
India and World Geography - Physical, Social, and Economic Geography of India and the World
In World Geography only a general understanding of the subject will be expected. Questions on the Geography of India will relate to the Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India.
Indian Polity and Governance
Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.:- In Indian Polity, Economics and Culture, questions will test knowledge of the country’s political system including Panchayati Raj and Community Development, broad features of Economic policy in India and Indian Culture.
UPPSC Prelims Syllabus for CSAT
The UPPSC CSAT syllabus is aimed to test the candidate's basic understanding of English, Maths, and Reasoning. This paper is qualifying in nature. The candidates are required to obtain at least 66 marks out of 200 in this paper. The list of important topics covered in this UPPSC CSAT paper are as follows:
- Comprehension.
- Interpersonal skills, including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision-making and problem-solving.
- General mental ability
- Elementary Mathematics up to Class X level- Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Statistics.
- General English up to Class X level.
- General Hindi up to Class X level.
UPPSC Mains Syllabus 2024
In the UPPSC PCS Mains exam, candidates need to appear for 8 papers that are conventional in nature. UPPSC has removed the optional papers that used to be there in the UPPSC Mains exam from 2023 onwards. Paper 5 and 6 of the PCS Mains exam will be based on Uttar Pradesh GK. The exam will now have General Hindi, Essay and General Studies papers.

UPPSC General Hindi Syllabus
UPPSC Essay Syllabus
The UPPSC Essay syllabus will be divided into three parts. Candidates will have to choose one subject from each section and write an essay of approximately 700 words on that topic. The topics of the essay will be based on the following :
- Section A : (1) Literature and Culture. (2) Social sphere. (3) Political sphere.
- Section B: (1) Science, Environment and Technology. (2) Economic Sphere (3) Agriculture, Industry and Trade.
