Article 63 of Indian Constitution states that "there shall be a Vice-President of India. Vice-President is elected by the members of an electoral college consisting of the members of both houses of the Parliament. State Legislature has no role in this election. The Judges of the Supreme Court can be removed by the order of the President. The President can issue the removal order only after an address by the Parliament has been presented to him in the same session.
