IPL Winners List 2023: The Indian Premier League is a popular cricket tournament in India that is organized annually and draws millions of viewers from around the world. The IPL follows a Twenty20 format and features 10 teams over the course of two months, as they compete against each other to lift the coveted IPL trophy.
IPL debuted in 2008 and has been held every year since without a break. Even during the pandemic, the tournament managed to entertain the fans and is now back for its 16th season. IPL has become synonymous with nail-biting finishes and razor-close matches. However, only one team gets to be the ultimate winner, and so far, seven teams have accomplished the feat.
Mumbai Indians (5) and Chennai Super Kings (5) are the franchises that have lifted the IPL trophy the most times. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is the only other team to win the IPL more than once, having done so twice in 2012 and 2014. Gujarat Titans, which first debuted in the 2022 IPL, are the defending champions, having won the tournament in their maiden outing.

IPL 2023 Winner Team
The final match, which was all set to take place on May 28 was disrupted because of heavy rain in Ahmedabad. Because the match could not take place on the scheduled date, it was moved to Reserve Day. So, the final is taking place on Monday, May 29. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to field in the first innings. GT took over the crease and showed incredible resilience to Chennai's bowlers. Sai Sudarshan proved to be a difficulty to the bowlers as the hard-hitting batsman scored 96 off 47 balls. GT's overall score was 214/4.
Chennai's target was to score 215 runs but was reduced to 171 (DLS) as rain delayed the match by two hours. In an action-packed inning that saw almost the entire CSK batting order shine, Devon Conway and Ravindra Jadeja were the standouts. The opening partnership between Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave the necessary momentum to Chennai and the remaining players Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja kept the show going.
MS Dhoni unfortunately scored a golden duck but CSK won the match by five wickets despite Mohit Sharma's suffocating death bowling. Chennai Super Kings is now tied with Mumbai Indians for winning the most IPL titles (5).
