List of Bank Holidays in June 2023: RBI (Reserve Bank of India) releases a list of bank holidays every year, informing customers about all the days when the bank operations will be closed. Check all the days and events when the bank will remain non-operational due to different national and regional festivals in the month of June.

Bank Holidays in June 2023: RBI has released the complete list of Bank holidays for the month of June. There are only a few public holidays this month, such as Eid-ul-Zuha, Eid-ul-Adha, Ratha Yatra etc., aside from the second and fourth Saturdays. However, not all banks in the public and private sectors will be closed on these days.

About June

June is the sixth month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars and is the second of four months to have a length of 30 days, and the third of five months to have a length of less than 31 days. The first is that the month is named after the Roman goddess Juno, the goddess of marriage and the wife of the supreme deity Jupiter. It contains the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the day with the most daylight hours, and the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, the day with the fewest daylight hours

According to Reserve Bank of India rules, all Indian banks must be closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month in addition to every Sunday. The first, third, and fifth Saturdays of each month, however, will continue to be active as usual. 

Important Bank Holidays June 2023

YMA Day

Every year on June 15th, the Indian State of Mizoram observes YMA Day. It honours the founding and formation of the Young Mizo Association, the largest non-profit group in India serving the Mizo people. Since this day is a federal holiday, no academic institutions, commercial enterprises, or government offices are open.

Raja Sankranti

Raja Sankranti is a three-day state government holiday celebrated in Odisha in eastern India. The first day of the festival of womanhood is known as "Pahili Raja," the second day is known as "Mithuna Sankranti," and the third day is known as "Bhudaaha" or "Basi Raja."

Bakri Eid/Eid-ul-Zuha

Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice is one of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam. People wear new clothes, offer Eid-Al-Adha prayers at the mosque and greet each other,  exchange Bakrid wishes and host mega feasts for friends and families.

Remna Ni

Every year on June 30th, the state of Mizoram observes Remna Ni as a regional public holiday. It commemorates the historic Mizo Peace Accord, which was signed in 1986 and brought peace to the area.

However, customers do not have to worry about financial transactions or any other banking services even on bank holidays. All Bank-related services can be easily accessed on bank holidays in June 2023 via IMPS, NEFT, UPI, ATM services, net banking, mobile banking, and other available modes.
