The International Bureau of Education is a leading UNESCO institute which was formed as a leader of the Global Centre of excellence in Curriculum and related matters. It was created as private organization in 1925 and in 1929, became the first intergovernmental organization that works in the field of Education.
As Global Centre of excellence in Curriculum, it recognised and shares the expertise and special knowledge to the Member States for understanding It also provide practical technical support addressing critical areas that impact provision and delivery of equitable quality education for all within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The prime motive is to bring support and innovative solutions to the challenges ministries of education and governments face in the complex task of improving quality and relevance of their curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment processes and outcomes.

Functions of International Bureau of Education

Capacity development: It facilitates knowledge-sharing and skills transfer through strengthened cooperation between countries to countries. So that the field of long-term opportunities will be broaden through discussion and sharing the novel ideas and practices with regard to quality curriculum innovation and reform processes.
