Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection has started recruitment process for Specialist Officers Exam 2016. The Specialist Officer Exam 2016 will be conducted for filling up the post in Specialist Officers’ cadre in 19 Public Sector Banks as well as other participating Bank/Financial Institutions in India.

Educational Qualification required to Appear for IBPS SO Recruitment Exam 2016

Educational Qualification for Office Assistant (Multipurpose):
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent and must have proficiency in local language.

Educational Qualification for Officer Scale I:
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent and must have proficiency in local language.

Educational Qualification for Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer):
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate with 2 years experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.


Educational Qualification for Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer)

Educational Qualification for Information Technology Officer
Degree from a recognized University in Electronics/ Communication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Educational Qualification for Chartered Accountant
Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Educational Qualification for Law Officer
Degree from a recognized University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with two years experience as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions.

Educational Qualification for Treasury Manager
Certified Associate ship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution.

Educational Qualification for Marketing Officer
MBA in Marketing from a recognized university.

Educational Qualification for Agricultural Officer
Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Educational Qualification for Officer Scale III:
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.

IBPS SO Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on Common Online Examination & Common Interview.

IBPS SO Application Fee

Candidates have to pay application fee/ intimation charges of Rs. 100/- for SC/ ST/ PWD/ EXSM category and Rs. 600/- for all others through Online. After submission of online application form, candidates can make payment through payment gateway only Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ MasterCard/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked on the screen from 08-07-2015 to 28-07-2015. After online payment, take print out of system generated e-receipt for future use.

Age Limit for IBPS SO Jobs

The candidate who wants to apply for the exam and recruitment process must have age in between 20 to 30 years.

Age Relaxation for IBPS SO 2016
There will be some relaxation in age of reserved category applicants:
ST/SC: 5 Years
OBC: 3 Years
PwD: 10 Years
Original Domiciles of Kashmir, 1984 Riot Affected People and EX Servicemen (Other Military Persons): 5 Years

The final clause in the IBPS SO 2016 Eligibility Criteria will be of the nationality of the candidates.
The candidates should be an Indian or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
The Tibetan Refugees who came to India as permanent residents before 1/1/1962 are also eligible.

Persons having Indian origin and who have migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Zaire, Zambia, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Malawi, United Republic of Tanzania, Vietnam and Ethiopia are also eligible under IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2016.

Prerequisites for Applying IBPS SO Exam 2016-2017 Online

Scan a photograph and signature
Photograph Image

  • The photograph must be a recent passport style color picture.
  • Make sure that the picture is in colour, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
  • Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face
  • If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows
  • If you have to use flash, ensure there's no "red-eye"
  • If you wear glasses, make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious Headwear is allowed, but it must not cover Your face.
  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)
  • Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb
  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not mo re than 50kb. If the size of the file is more than 50 kb, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning.

Signature Image

  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
  • The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
  • The signature will be used to put on the Call Letter and wherever necessary.
  • If the Applicant’s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Call Letter, the applicant will be disqualified.
  • Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred).
  • Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb.
  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20kb.

Scanning the photograph & signature

  • Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).
  • Set Color to True Color.
  • File Size as specified above.
  • Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
  • The image file should be JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is: image01.jpg or image01. JPEG I'm n dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon.

Have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the completion of this round of Common Recruitment Process. IBPS may send call letters for the Examination, etc. through the registered email ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share with/mention e-mail ID to / of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying on-line and must maintain that email account.
