Indian Institute of Technology (Iitm), Madras

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is one of the finest institutes for technological education in India. It was ranked the number one engineering college in the country in the MHRD's NIRF 2018 rankings. The German Government offered technical assistance for establishing an institute of higher education in India, it was first of a kind project by the German Government. And in the year 1959 the first Indo-German agreement in Bonn, West Germany was signed for the establishment of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

Infrastructure

IIT Madras is a residential institute and is home to around 550 faculty members, 8000 students, and 1250 administrative staff. It is a self-contained campus and is surrounded by a beautiful wooded land of about 250 hectares. It has the fastest computing facility among all the educational institutions in India. It has 16 academic departments and a number of advanced research centres in a variety of disciplines of engineering and pure sciences. IIT Madras Research Park is another innovative offering of IIT M which aims to propel innovation and nurture startup ecosystems through incubation efforts and technical infrastructure.
