After fighting with death for almost 9 weeks, Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee bid adieu to the nation yesterday at 05:05 PM. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS, Delhi released a press release which stated that even after trying hard, they were not able to save the life of Atal ji. The whole nation is mourning due to the demise of such an eminent personality. In such a situation, Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia tweeted yesterday that all the Delhi government offices, schools, and institutions will remain closed tomorrow as a mark of respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Both Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal visited the hospital to check upon the health of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The media advisor to the chief minister, Nagender Sharma, earlier said Delhi CM has requested all the party volunteers and well-wishers to avoid Mr Kejriwal's birthday celebrations today and refrain from paying a visit at his residence for this.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his grief by stating that he has lost a figure by the sudden demise of Vajpayee. Political dignitaries like Congress President Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited AIIMS where former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was admitted.
The school and college students across the nation yesterday were praying for the Atal ji’s recovery. He was a great leader and under his reign, our country has seized many achievements. Vajpayee was one of India's most charismatic leaders who led the nation through several crises and held together with a tenuous coalition with his inclusive politics. He died yesterday at the age of 93. He condition was deteriorating continuously.
