The Goa Board’s Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Exam was held in the month of February / March. The examination was held at 16 dedicated centres across the state in which nearly 17,000 students have appeared for the exam. The first paper of English / Marathi language was held on February 29th while the last examination of Political Science was conducted on 22nd March. Brief Look at Last Year’s Goa Board 12th Result.
Last year, the Goa 12th HSSC Result was announced on 10th May. A total of 16,180 students including 8480 were girls and 7700, boys; had registered for the Board examination last year. Of this 15,708 students were awarded their results in 2015. In terms of success ratio, 13,838 candidates cleared the Goa HSSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) Exam last year, which translates to pass percentage of 88.10%. Once again, girls emerged on top and beat boys by a significant margin in terms of pass percentage. The respective statistics for girls and boys were 89.10% and 83.77%.
In terms of the stream-wise performance, all the four streams managed to maintain its record of scoring above 80% marks. Science recorded the highest pass percentage of 90.81%, followed by Commerce 89.13% while vocational slipped from the first position in the last academic year to third place registering 85.88%. Arts, once again, was the last with 84.37%.
