BSEB 10th Result 2018: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Tuesday declared the Bihar Class 10 examination results. According to reports, around 68.89 per cent of students have passed the examinations this year. The result was declared by state’s Education Minister Krishnanandan Prasad Verma and Board chairman Anand Kishor. The Board had earlier declared the Class 12 examination results on June 6. The Board had conducted the Class 10 examinations this year from February 21 to 28. More than 17 lakh students took part in the examinations. Prerna Raj of Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya secured the top position in the examinations with 457/500 marks.
A total of 17,23,911 students had appeared for the examinations this year out of which 8,63,250 passed. 13.91 per cent students passed in first division, 26.88 per cent passed in second division, 9.32 per cent passed in third division. The pass percentage saw a rise this year from last year’s pass percentage of 50.12 per cent. The second position in the examinations is shared by Shikha Kumari and Pragya with 454 marks each. The third position was grabbed by Anupriya Kumari with 452 marks. These three girls are also from Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya. The first, second and third toppers will get Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively along with a laptop, an e-book and stationeries.
Earlier, the Board was to declare the results on June 20 but it was declared today after reports emerged that more than 40,000 answer sheets went missing from Gopalganj’s SS Girl’s Senior Secondary School. "The Bihar board will soon conduct a meeting to decide the scrutiny process of the lost 42,000 copies. The students have nothing to worry," said BSEB chairperson Anand Kumar. He also added that pattern change and 50 per cent objective questions are the main reasons for improvement in result this year. Education Minister Krishnanandan Prasad Verma said that the results have shown the empowerment of girls.
All those students who cannot clear the Class 10 examinations this year successfully can appear for the Bihar Board Class 10 compartment examinations that will be conducted on the month of July. The results of compartment examinations will also be declared in the month of July. The students can apply for these exams through the official websites from June 28.
