The Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) has finally released the second merit list today. The candidates who were looking to take admission in the state inter-colleges can now check the list on the Online Facilitation System For Students (OFSS) - https://ofssbihar.in/Higher-Education/index.aspx .
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Chairman Anand Kishor who recently took charge had announced that the Board would release the second merit list on September 5 of the selected candidates for admission in inter-colleges in streams like science (PCM and PCB), commerce and arts in 3,262 educational institutes across the state for the session 2018-20.
Earlier, the board had released the list in which out of 11.46 lakh candidates, who had applied through OFSS, 9.81 lakh candidates named figured in the list. Kishore had also announced that the BSEB would conduct the admissions in Class XI in inter-colleges from this year onwards through OFSS (Online Felicitation System for Students).
"Last year, we changed the exam pattern by introducing 50% objective questions and giving more options in questions to make it easy for the students. The board, however, partially succeeded in its initiative. The pass percentage of Class X had increased from 50.12% in 2017 to 68.89% in 2018, while the pass percentage of Class XII was also increased from 35.24% in 2017 to 52.95% in 2018," Kishor had said.
During the interaction with the media, the BSEB chairman had added that the board will also felicitate and would give incentives to the evaluators (who correct answer-copies), who made less or no mistakes in evaluating the Class X and XII board exam copies from next year. The incentives will be given under 'Evaluation Incentive Plan'.

The Bihar School Examination Board is also known as the BSEB. According to the official website, the Board is established for holding and conducting an examination at the end of the Secondary School stage, for prescribing course of studies for such examination and for carrying out such other objects and duties as may be considered necessary for the purpose as stated in the Act, Rules and Regulations of the Board. The Board is a statutory body under section 3 of Bihar School Examination Board Act of 1952. It is headquartered at the Capital of the state, Patna. Normally every year the Bihar School Examination Board conducts Annual Secondary School Examination in the month of February and March and Supplementary School Examination in the month of August and September on the basis of course or syllabus as prescribed by the Bihar Government. Apart from the aforesaid Secondary School Examination, the Board also conducts departmental examinations such as Diploma in Physical Education, Certificate in Physical Education, Teachers Training Examination, Simultala Residential Entrance Examinations, Examination for Diploma in Elementary Education on such terms and condition as laid down by the State Government.
