In order to bring innovative reforms in the education sector, the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the University of Mumbai have granted 'Autonomous Status' to B K Birla College in Kalyan. The Birla College has become the first college to get autonomous status in entire Thane district. Yesterday, the Chairman of BK Birla College and Birla School Governing Council, addressed the press and told them about this announcement. He further said that the faculty members in autonomous colleges make use of modern education techniques and tools to make the education process more attractive and effective.
The college has claimed that they will conduct the examination in time and the result will be declared in time. The institute is now planning to start new skill-oriented courses including certification in photography and certification in animation.
As per the sources, the college has decided to spend Rs 12 crore for different work in college that includes modernisation of the library, laboratory, campus and other things. Right now, the college has different professional courses along with academic study and around 10,000 students are studying in college.
