Common Admission Test or CAT is the most important MBA entrance exam of the country. It is the first and foremost priority of MBA aspirants.
This national level examination is conducted by the IIMs every year on a rotational basis. Every year a large number of candidates appear in the CAT examination and the count is increasing year by year.
This time IIM Kolkata is going to conduct CAT 2017. The official notification will be released in the month of July. Any graduate with minimum 50% (45% for reserved category) marks can apply for the exam.
The CAT Exam is scheduled in the month of December and there is no change in the exam pattern. The questions will most likely be distributed in three sections, including Verbal Reasoning (34), Quantitative Ability (34) and Data Interpretation (32). CAT syllabus is based upon basics of 10+2 curriculum. So it is imperative to go through NCERT books mentioned CAT 2017 Syllabus.
Registration process for CAT 2017 will be online and expected to begin on August 06, 2017 and end on September 25, 2017.
CAT Eligibility Criteria 2017:
The eligibility criteria of CAT has remained constant over the years.
1. Aspirants should have passed and obtained Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institute.
2. The minimum percentage of aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA to be obtained or secured by the applicants is 50 for General category candidates and 45 for reserved category candidates.
3. Final year graduation students are also eligible to appear for the exam provided they fulfill the Bachelor’s degree cutoff and other factors within the stipulated schedule given by IIMs and other participating institutes.
CAT 2017 Admit Card:
You can download your CAT 2017 admit card from the official website on October 15, 2017 to November 27, 2017.
Declaration of CAT Result 2017:
The results will be announced in the second week of January. Test takers can download their CAT 2017 score cards online by logging in to the official website through the CAT ID/Sr No. and password. The CAT 2017 result will be available only in online mode and IIMs will not send the hard copy of the score cards at the candidates’ address.
Selection Procedure of IIM CAT 2017
After declaration of CAT result 2017, the IIMs will start the Selection procedure in the month of February. Each IIM conducts their selection rounds separately. However, in the last few years, some of the newer IIMs have been conducting their selection rounds together to make it easy for the students. Following IIMs are expected to select the same interview city:

• IIM Raipur
• IIM Tiruchirappalli
• IIM Rohtak
• IIM Ranchi
Apart from IIMs, other top management institutes like FMS, MDI, NTIE, SP Jain, Department of Management Studies at IITs, Manipal University, ITM Delhi, and Chandigarh University and over 115 management B-schools also accept CAT score as a qualifying criteria for their management programs.
