CBSE 10th and 12th Exam 2021 Date for Private Candidates: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the CBSE Board Exam 2021 Dates for students who are registered as Private Candidates. CBSE Board 10th and 12th Exams 2021 for private candidates will be held in the month of August – Sept 2021. According to the announcement made by the Board today, the exams for students who were registered as private candidates will be held between 16th August and 15th September 2021. The exams for students who are registered under “private category” will have to appear for physical – written examination as per the policy mandated by the Supreme Court of India, the Board informed.

Results Can’t Be Prepared Based on Alternative Evaluation Policy

The decision to hold regular, class-room based exams for CBSE Board 10th and 12th Private Candidates was taken after a thorough discussion in the apex court. While presenting its case before the SC bench, CBSE had noted that results of the private candidates cannot be declared on the basis of an alternative assessment policy like that for regular candidates, as "neither schools nor CBSE has any previous assessment record for these students". In line with this, the apex court had permitted the board to hold regular exams for these candidates under strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, once the situation improves.

Exam for Private Candidates in Aug – September 2021

The CBSE in its latest statement has said that exams for students who are registered as private candidates will be held in August and Sept 2021. The statement reads “The board will conduct the exams for the private category of students between August 16 to September 15 and their result will also be declared in the minimum possible time to avoid any difficulty to them in admission in higher education. The notification in this regard will be issued soon.” The circular further adds that the Board has also co-ordinated with UGC to ensure UG admission process is synchronized with exams for private candidates, so that they do not face any problem in joining college for higher studies.

The statement in this regards adds "UGC and CBSE are looking into the interest of all the students and UGC will be synchronizing admission schedule based on the result of these students as it was done by UGC in 2020.”
