The Central Board of Secondary Education has changed the mode of conducting the School-based assessment for the 2020-21 academic year. As per reports, since some of the schools were unable to conduct the practical or internal assessment exams due to the pandemic, the board has allowed the schools to conduct the exams online and upload the marks of the students latest by June 28, 2021.

The board has provided the list of subjects for which the internal and practical exams are to be conducted along with the breakup of marks for the theory and practical, project, or internal assessment and the duration of the examinations.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has also directed the schools to announce the dates for the online internal examinations in advance and on the date of the exam share the link of the line meet with the students as well as the external examiners.

The CBSE in a statement issued added that in the subjects where the external examiners have not been appointed the concerned school teachers of the subject will be conducting the internal assessment based on the instructions given in the curriculum and upload the marks in the link provided by the board.

Instructions to be followed by the examiners

The internal examiners will be taking an on-screen photograph of each of the students which should have the picture of the internal examiner, external examiner, and the student or recording of the entire session of the viva voce for the school records. The CBSE further adds that while uploading the marks it must be ensured that the correct marks are uploaded since no correction will be allowed once the marks are uploaded. The examiners are required to keep in mind that the marks allotted should not bunch towards the maximum marks which are highly unlikely considering the diverse levels of the students.

The CBSE further added that the policy for conducting the practical/project/internal assessment component for the private students registered for the 2021 class 12 exam will be declared by the board soon.
