The CBSE recently announced an increase in the fee for the class 10 and 12 board examination students. As per recent reports, the board has increased the examination fee, additional subject fee, and the late fee to be paid by the candidates while registering for the examination. The board has doubled the fee which according to the education minister of Odisha will be a burden for the parents.
The Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Monday said that the situation will be very difficult for the parents to provide the requisite fee. He also added that the CBSE authorities were not right on increasing the examination fee all of a sudden. While addressing the media he also said that the All India Parent’s Association Odisha Chapter members have sought the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s interventions regarding this matter. He also added that the state government will be considering the matter.
The parents association has objected the announcement from the board regarding the increased examination fee for the Class 10 and 12 board examination students. According to the notification from the board, the fee for the general category students has been increased to Rs. 1500 from Rs 750 for five subjects. Along with this, the fee for the SC/ST students has also been increased by the board. Where earlier, the students from ST/SC category paid Rs 350 they will not have to pay Rs. 1200 for five subjects. In a special arrangement for the students in Delhi, the SC/ST category students had to pay only Rs. 50 and the balance amount would be paid by the government of Delhi.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has increased the fee for the class 10 and 12 board examination students as given below. The fee for the registration of five subjects is Rs. 1500, the fee for additional subjects is Rs. 300, and the late fee is Rs. 2000, while the migration fee is Rs. 300.
