As per a new circular issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the applicants for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) can upload their signature and photographs till 2 September on the board’s portal. However, only those who had filled their registration forms for the exam by 27th August will be eligible for the same. Upon doing so, they can then submit the registration fees by 5 September by 2 p.m. in the afternoon. All those who are eligible for this have been asked by the board to complete their application processes. It has also made it clear that the submission date will not be stretched further.
Apart from that, CBSE has also made changes to the eligibility criteria for the CTET examination. The change makes those who have completed their B.Ed degree and have already applied and paid for for the second examination, to be eligible to apply for both the papers.
The CTET Qualification Certificate remains valid for seven years from the date of the declaration of the result for the exam. The CTET this year will comprise of two separate examinations (Paper I and Paper II). While Paper I is for those who want to teach Classes I-V, Paper II is meant for those interested in teaching Classes VI-VIII. It is due to take place on the 9th of December this year.
The CTET will be conducted in two phases - Paper I and Paper II. The students who aspire to become Primary Teacher need to appear in Paper I (I-V). The Paper II is conducted for those who wish to become an Elementary Teacher (VI-VIII). The questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Types. Questions will be set in bilingual language (English and Hindi).
