The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to re-conduct the examinations for Economics for Class 12th and Mathematics for Class 10th. Earlier, there were reports that suggested some wrong happenings in the conduct of certain examinations.
With the view to uphold the sanctity of the Board Examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to re-conduct the examinations. The dates for fresh examinations and other details shall be hosted on the CBSE website within a week, a CBSE notice said.
According to the sources, some teachers, parents, and students are planning to move the Delhi High Court seeking re-exam and an independent probe on the leaks. The parents and students are also claiming that even the Class X Social Studies and Class XII Biology Exam were also leaked, among others. According to a senior MHRD official, the dates for the re-exam will be announced in due course.
On March 15th, 2018, the Delhi Government had said that they have received complaints about the Class 12th CBSE Accountancy paper being leaked. The government had ordered a probe, even as the board denied any leak.
"There has been no leakage of the question paper. All the seals have been found intact at all exam centers. However, at the local level, some miscreants may have circulated messages through WhatsApp and other social media platforms to hurt the sanctity of the exam," the board had then said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and conveyed his unhappiness over the paper leak issue. The PM has asked him to take some strict action against the culprits, reported ANI.
