Tamil Nadu has begun the distribution of Free Books to the students of Class 10 and 12 School students across the different districts in the state. Tamil Nadu State School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan made the announcement in a briefing on the visit of the state Chief Minister to Erode on July 17, 2020.
The Minister further added that the students in the state may learn through the Quick Response Code (QR) and YouTube while the select teachers will guide them for which about 6,019 schools will be provided with Wifi connections to help the students learn the lessons easily through their laptops and mobiles. The Minister also added that the school syllabus will be declared within three days further stating that the lessons will be telecast through 14 TV channels including the government-sponsored Kalvi (Education) Channel to keep the students in track with the positions during the pandemic.
The initiative taken through television will help the students to remain updated with their lessons since the schools have been closed since March 17, 2020, due to the measures taken by the government due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The education system in the state has turned to television mode with the state Chief Minister launching the lessons for the class 10 and 12 students.
While speaking about the Chief Minister's visit to Erode, the education minister stated that the Chief Minister will conduct a review meeting on the developmental works and review the actions taken by the district administration in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chief Minister will also be laying the foundation stone for the Rs. 151 Crore project works in the district and inaugurates the completed works in the district following which a function will be conducted at the collectorate where the Chief Minister will distribute the welfare measures to the people in need.
