Coronavirus Live Updates: PM Modi delivered an important message to fellow Indians today at 9 AM. In the message, he lauded Indians for their co-operation during the lockdown period and the sacrifices they have made during the time of this pandemic. He also asked Indians to not be pessimistic about the situation and instead rise and express their unity in this fight against Coronavirus this Sunday. He asked Indians to Switch Off Lights This Sunday and Light diyas or candles to express their unity and solidarity. Earlier yesterday, PM Modi hinted at a staggered lifting of lockdown after 14th April 2020 in his video conference with Chief Ministers of various states. On Thursday, the total number of positive cases in India soared past 2000 mark with Death Toll at 52 while at global level the number of cases rose past 1 million mark with over 50,000 deaths.

    91 Fresh Cases Reported in Delhi in 24 Hours, Tally at 384: Delhi CM

    Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today briefed media about the latest update about COVID-19 cases in the national capital. As per the details provided by him, 91 Fresh Cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Delhi in last 24 Hours, taking the overall tally of the state to 384. He also added that of the total number of cases, 259 cases have been reported from Nizammuddin Markaz. He also added that the Death Toll in national capital also rise to 5, with 1 death reported in last 24 hours.

    130 Govt, 52 Private Labs conducting COVID-19 Tests: ICMR

    ICMR spokesperson at the evening briefing of health ministry confirmed that a total of 130 Government Laboratories and 52 Private Laboratories are currently conducting tests for COVID-19 in India. ICMR also informed that yesterday,  over 8000 samples were tested by these laboratories, taking the total number of samples tested so far to 66,000.

    UP Govt to setup Rs 1000 Cr Fund for COVID-19

    Uttar Pradesh Government has setup a Rs 1000 Crore Fund for dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic in the state. The decision to setup a dedicated fund to deal with COVID-19 was announced by UP CM Yogi Adityanath. He said that the Rs 1000 Crore worth of COVID-19 Fund will be used for setting up testing facilities and procuring ventilators, masks and sanitisers.

    336 Fresh COVID-19 cases in 24 Hours: Health Ministry

    Health Ministry Joint Secretary Luv Agarwal in the evening briefing today confirmed that India now has over 2300 COVID-19 cases of which 336 fresh cases have been reported in last 24 Hours. In the briefing he also said that of the total number of cases 647 cases are related to Tablighi Jamaat event.

    Singapore announces 1-month Lockdown

    Today, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced a 1-month long lockdown starting 7th April 2020 – i.e. next Tuesday, to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country. According to the announcement made by Singapore PM, during the lockdown, only essential services and key economic sectors will remain operational in the country; rest all other public and private organizations will be closed.

    WHO Team to Visit Tonk in Rajasthan

    Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot sent out a tweet confirming that a WHO team will be visiting Rajasthan''s Tonk district on Friday to conduct a survey in the wake of rising number of coronavirus cases in the state. He also reiterated that the state government is committed to following all the guidelines and prevention techniques recommended by WHO to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state. Currently, Rajasthan has reported 154 cases, of which 12 have been reported from Tonk District in last 24 hours.

    PM Modi interacts with eminent Sportspersons of India via Video Conferencing

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with over 40 eminent sportspersons of India today via video conferencing.     China to observe 'Mourning Day' on 4th April

    China will observe 4th April – Saturday as a mourning day for Coronavirus victims. Tomorrow, Chinese people will observe a nation-wide three minutes of silence to mourn the deceased, while air raid sirens and horns of automobiles, trains and ships will wail in grief, as per a PTI report.

     Reports indicate, that the government has decided to observe the day to remember the sacrifices made by the country including martyrs like "whistleblower" doctor Li Wenliang, who sacrificed their lives in fight against COVID-19. Tomorrow, all Chinese national flags will fly at half-mast across the country and in all Chinese embassies and consulates abroad. The government has also suspended all public recreational activities for tomorrow.

    Number of Active Cases in India rise to 2088, Death Toll at 56

    As per the latest update available on Ministry of Health Website, the number of total positive active cases of COVID-19 has jumped to 2088 and the death toll has risen to 56. The ministry website also states that around 156 people have fully recovered from coronavirus infection and have been discharged by the hospitals.

    Rajasthan reports 7 Fresh Cases

    On Friday Morning, Rajasthan reported 7 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the state tally to 138. According to an ANI report, all the 5 fresh cases have been among people who were in close contact with Tablighi Jamaat attendees who participated in the event in Delhi.
