In order to improve the performance of the students in the class 10 board examination, the Education Department of the Government of Delhi has distributed the answer sheets of the board examination toppers as model sheets in its schools.
As per the officials at the department, the answer sheets of the students who scored the highest marks in this year’s examination were taken through a special arrangement with the CBSE to help its students.
It is the first time that model answer sheets are being distributed by the education department. The five best answer sheets from each of the 2019 board examination have been distributed for English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science papers.
The education department in a circular has stated that these answer sheets are available on a closed online portal and the teachers may refer to these answer sheets to motivate the students for the upcoming examinations. The answer sheets, the circular stated will help the students to improve their writing skills and also develop an effective technique for attempting the question paper in an ideal manner.
The results of the class 10 board examinations have been a problem for the Delhi government schools which registered a pass percentage as low as 71.97 this year. The education department has been taking keep steps in trying to improve its track record after the results were declared this year.
The department took up a focused drive in order to increase the percentage through compartment examinations. The results of the compartment examination were declared in July 2019. The compartment examinations were conducted in order to give the students who failed in either one or two exams a second chance to clear the papers.
The department also began regular remedial classes in Mathematics and Science for the students appearing for the compartment examinations in May and managed to raise the pass percentage to 81.4 percent.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has earlier this month released the sample question papers for the 2020 class 10 and 12 students along with its marking scheme on the official website of the board.
