The Delhi University (DU) has released its ninth cut-off list for admission to undergraduate (UG) courses to give one more opportunity to aspirants to secure admission. The ninth cut off list is a special drive to allow candidates to take admission who failed to secure seats in the previous cut off lists. The Special Drive (9th Cut-off) of the UG admissions is meant only for those eligible applicants, who are not admitted to any College/Course of the University but meet any of the preceding cut-offs”, Delhi University said in a notification. Apart from Schedule Cast (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) category, general category students too have an opportunity to take admission as some colleges in North Campus have seats vacant under some courses.
Students can apply for BA (Hons) Hindi, BSc Life Science, BCom and BCom (Hons) courses in Daulat Ram College. Similarly, Hindu College has seats for BSc (Hons) Physics and Chemistry courses, while Hansraj College has seats for BSc Life Science. Kirori Mal College has opened admissions to it BA (Hons) in Hindi, English, and Political Science, and BSc (Hons) in Physics and Botany.
Ramjas College has seats available under BA (Hons) Political Science and Economics while Miranda House has admissions open for BA (Hons) English and Sociology. There are some off-campus colleges like Deshbandhu College, Acharya Narendra Dev College, Gargi College, and Atma Ram Sanatam Dharma College who have seats available for science and humanities courses.
As per the notification issued, students will get two days time i.e. August 21-22 for document verification and approval of admission against the ninth cut-off. Earlier, Delhi University had announced that it will release only five cut off lists for admission in various under-graduate courses but it had to come up with subsequent cut off lists in order to fill vacant seats.
