Education Minister to Interact with State Education Secretaries: As per the official announcement, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ is all set to interact with the State Education Secretaries today i.e. on 17th May 2021. The virtual meeting is scheduled to be held at 11 AM in which discussion on holding of pending Board Exams 2021 is likely, as per sources. As per the details shared by the ministry, during the meeting discussions are expected to take place regarding holding of upcoming board exams as well online education, and work around National Education Policy (NEP).

 

Meeting Announced on Twitter

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ took to twitter to announce that he would be virtually meeting and interacting with State Education Secretaries on Monday i.e. 17th May 2021. In a tweet sent out from his official account Mr Pokhriyal noted “I will be virtually attending the meeting with State Education Secretaries on 17th May, 2021 at 11 AM. The objective of the meeting is to review the #COVID situation, online education, and work around NEP.”

Review of Online Education during COVID-19

According to the details shared by the Union Education Minister, the virtual meeting with State Education Secretaries are being held to review the preparation made by the education departments of the states to cope up with the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Apart from this, Mr Pokhriyal will also hold discussion with Secretaries about how the students can continue their online education despite the challenges faced by them during the pandemic.

Although it has not been mentioned officially, the meeting is also expected to have a brief discussion on the pending CBSE Board 12th Exam 2021 and state board exams in several state. Owing to the aggressive 2nd Wave of COVID-19, the Class 12 Board Exams in several states have been postponed while Class 10 exams have been cancelled in many states. Today’s meeting is also expected to see a discussion on this topic as well.
