Fr. P. Christie S.J has been appointed as the new director of Xavier School of Management. In an official statement released by the Xavier School of Management, it was stated that after completing his second term as director of the management institute Fr. E. Abraham S.J has handed over his duties to Fr. P Christie S.J who took to office with immediate effect. The former director Fr. E Abraham, an alumnus of the institute itself was the longest-serving director of the institute which spanned across 16 years in two consecutive terms.
Before being appointed as the director of Xavier School of Management, Fr. P. Christie was serving as the director of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai for the past 11 years. He has been associated with the Loyola Institute of Business Administration since 1999 where he started as an assistant professor for Decision Science and later on became the dean before finally taking up the responsibility of becoming the director of the institute.
Fr. Christie secured completed his MBA and secured his Ph.D. in Business Administration from St. Louis University, St. Louis, United States with a Major in Decision Sciences. Along with this he also completed his master’s degree in statistics from Madras Christian College, Chennai.
The statement released by the management institute also elaborated that Fr. P Christie holds vast experience in evaluations and strategic planning with which he undertook several consulting assignments and strategic planning programmes and organizations in the country as well as abroad.
While speaking about his appointment, Fr. P Christie reminder that one of the goals of the institute is the upbringing of responsible leaders who are conscious and sensitive about the needs of the underprivileged sections of the society who also work towards the inclusive and sustainable growth of the country. He assured that the institute will continue to place a strong emphasis on its ideologies.
