Goa Board HSSC Exam 2019 exam paper for Class 12 students scheduled for 18th March 2019 has been postponed. The decision to delay the exam was taken after the sad news regarding the demise of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar broke out. Today, i.e. on 18th March 2019, Goa Board has scheduled exam for Banking, Computer Science, Logic, Co-operation (CWSN) and Cooperation subjects. The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has issued an official notification informing students about the delay in the 18th March 2019 paper. Post the delay, the exam will be held on 27th March 2019. The schedule for all the other exams will remain the same. Currently, the Goa Board 12th Exam 2019 is underway and now, will continue until 27th March 2019.
Goa CM Manohar Parrikar was suffering from pancreatic ailment since February 2018. He passed away at his private residence on Sunday - 17th March 2019 in the evening. Following this, the state mourning was announced. Holiday was also announced for all schools and institutions in the state tomorrow as well as government offices.
Following the announcement of the state mourning period, all the state government offices including schools and colleges will remain closed in the state. The Goa government issued a statement in this regard saying “as a mark of respect for the departed soul of Manohar Parrikar, CM of Goa, all the state government offices, local-autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, all educational institutions including aided institutions shall remain closed on March 18."
Apart from holding post of CM of Goa, Mr Parrikar had also been the defence minister of India. He has been long suffering from the ailment and was treated at various hospitals in Goa, Mumbai as well as US. After spending about a month in AIIMS, New Delhi, Mr. Parrikar was being treated at his residence in Panaji.
