ICAI CA Foundation Course 2020: Students who have appeared for their Class 12 Board exam 2020 can provisionally register for ICAI CA 2020 Foundation course even if their Board exams are not completed. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has relaxed the norms for registering for the CA Foundation course this year keeping in view of the prevalent situation. Students who have not been able to appear for all the Class 12 Board exams due to the papers being postponed by their respective Board, thus, will also be able to register for the course. According the eligibility criteria set by the ICAI, students are required to have passed in their Class 12 Board exams in order to register for the foundation course. However, given the special circumstances, surrounding the lockdown, the registration eligibility norms for ICAI CA Foundation Course 2020 have been relaxed. The ICAI, on its official website, have notified that the Institute has decided to relax the eligibility criteria as a one-time measure due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic owing to which the CBSE/ ICSE/ State Boards had to postpone their on-going Class 12 Board exams. The notification further said that students who were unable to register themselves for the Foundation course as they were not able to appear in all the papers can now register for the same. Apart from this, candidates can also appear in the ICAI November 2020 Foundation exam after passing in their Senior Secondary exams. The ICAI CA June 2020 Foundation exam is scheduled be held on 27th and 29th June and 1st and 3rd July 2020.
As per the newly introduced one-time eligibility criteria, a candidate can provisionally register for the ICAI CA Foundation Course 2020 until 30th June 2020 if s/he has been allotted admit cards or has appeared in one or examinations in the months of February/March 2020 conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination that is recognised by the Central Government or the State Government considered as equivalent thereto for the purpose of admission to a graduation course
