JEE Main, NEET Exam Syllabus Not Reduced: NTA i.e. the National Testing Agency has confirmed that the syllabus for national level entrance exams i.e. NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020 exams have not been changed, modified, curtailed or reduced. The clarification from the apex testing agency comes amid the rumours and reports about exam syllabus being curtailed keeping in view the COVID-19 lockdown and the hardships faced by the aspirants. According to a news report published by NDTV, senior officials from NTA have confirmed that there is no reduction in the syllabus or curriculum of for engineering and medical entrance exams that are being conducted by the NTA.
Clarification In Response to Rumours
As reported earlier, the clarification from NTA comes in response to the news and misinformation that has been going viral on social media about the JEE Main 2020 Syllabus and NEET UG 2020 syllabus being reduced. In response to this, officials from the National Testing Agency have urged students to ‘not fall for rumours and misinformation that is being circulated on various platforms’. The officials also confirmed that the syllabus for both exams remains unchanged and cover the same topics and chapters that have been prescribed in the official notification.
JEE Main, NEET 2020 Exam Dates Announced
On 5th May, HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal addressed a live webinar in which he announced the new dates for JEE Main 2020 Engineering entrance exam and NEET 2020 medical entrance exam. HRD Minister confirmed that JEE-Mains will be held from 18th to 23rd July, while JEE Advanced – entrance exam for admission to IITs and NITs, will be held in August 2020. On similar lines, he also confirmed that medical entrance exam NEET 2020 will be conducted on 26th July 2020. On the topic of exam dates for pending CBSE Board Exam 2020, the minister informed that the board will announced detailed revised schedule for the examination in next couple of days on official website cbse.nic.in.
