Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved has put a trial version of its messaging app 'Kimbho' on Google Play store for downloads. However, the Haridwar-based firm has announced that the app would be officially launched on August 27. The app has been downloaded over 5000 times since it re-appeared and first-time users faced several issues, including problems in setting up profile pictures while using the indigenous app. "Is this a joke? Worst UI ever, never seen something bad than this ….. (sic)," wrote one user. "When I'm registering, it says 'try later'. What's this? Rubbish!," wrote another.
Kimbho - which roughly translates to ‘How are you?’ or ‘What's new?’ in Sanskrit - now comes with "new and advanced features", Patanjali Ayurved managing director Acharya Balkrishna said in a tweet. "There may be some shortcoming in the 'Kimbho' app, will all improvement we will do an official launch on August 27, 2018", he wrote on microblogging site Twitter.
"We have put the trial version of Kimbho on the Google Play Store so that we come to know about the shortcoming. We are open for any amendments for any errors and we have invited feedback from the people also," SK Tijarawal, spokesperson of Patanjali said. Kimbho has been launched to take on popular chat platform Facebook-owned WhatsApp. The app has features like chat, multimedia, voice and video calling, video conferencing, etc.
