With an aim to effectively control the spread of Coronavirus infection in Lucknow, the district administration has ordered the closure of all educational institutions except the medical colleges.
According to the order issued by the Lucknow District Magistrate - Abhishek Prakash, all the government and non-government schools, colleges, coaching institutions, and other educational institutions except medical, nursing, and para-medical colleges will remain closed until April 15, 2021.
The District magistrate has however stated that the examinations including the practical examinations will be allowed in the university-recognized educational institutions by following the COVID-19 protocols issued by the state and the central government ensuring everyone's safety.
State governments across the country have resorted to the closure of schools and colleges considering the severe second wave of COVID-19 in the country. Schools have gone back to imparting education in the online mode for the students in the pre-primary and primary sections, while the classes are being conducted offline for the higher secondary students.
Schools have gone back to working at 50 percent staff and student capacity. The classes are being conducted in both online and offline mode and the students attending the offline classes are required to carry the permission slips from their parents to attend the classes.
An increase in the COVID-19 cases has been reported across the country in the second wave of the pandemic. While some of the states have closed down the schools until further notice, a few other states are moving into another round of lockdown to curb the increase in the number of infected cases.
