Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang has announced that the Madhya Pradesh state government will be offering the option of studying medicine in Hindi in the future. The minister when speaking on the occasion of Hindi Divas announced that a committee will be formed at the earliest to ensure that medical education courses are prepared in Hindi as well and in the near future medical studies will begin in Hindi.
The minister earlier this month announced that lectures on RSS Founder KB Hedgewar, Jana Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyaya, Swami Vivekananda, and BR Ambedkar will be a part of the first-year foundation courses for MBBS.
Elective for Arts Stream
The minister further added that the decision is aimed at instilling social and medical ethics in students. MP higher Education Minister Mohan Yadhav announced that the first-year students of graduate courses will be offered the Ramcharitramanas as an elective subject under philosophy discipline in the arts stream.
The minister added that on the recommendation of the syllabus committee, the applied philosophy of Shri Ramcharitramanas has been introduced as an elective course under the philosophy subject for the first-year students of the BA programme from the 2021-22 academic year. The minister pointed out that this is not about a particular religion and the government has also introduced Urdu Gazal as a subject.
He also pointed out that when the new syllabus is being implemented in the context of the new education policy the government is also trying to bring the past into the forefront.
