Maharashtra HSC Exam 2021 Update: On Sunday, Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said a decision on class 12th exams in the state, which have been postponed earlier, will be taken in a week. She further added that the option of a “non-examination route” should be explored because of the ongoing pandemic situation. After the meeting with the central government to decide on the conduction of the pending class 12 board exams and the subsequent entrance exams, she informed that the primary concern at present was the health and safety of all the students.

Sharing the views of the parents and students with the Central ministry, she spoke about the pandemic and its multifaceted impact on the students. She also pointed out that class 12 students have been in this class for 14 months and further delay is not in the true interest of the student. With this, she also urged for a quick decision.
She posted on her Twitter - “Our focus should now be on evolving a UNIFORM ASSESSMENT policy, VACCINATION of all teachers & eligible students, & safe resumption of schools and college campuses for the next academic year.”
She further said, “For CBSE schools, the Centre has sought feedback from states on two options it has proposed for the conduct of exams. I've given our initial feedback but have conveyed that I will hold further deliberations with the chief minister and legal experts on both CBSE and our own board exams.” The final feedback on CBSE as well as State Board Exams has to be sent after deliberations with their respective departments and experts by 25th May.
Maharashtra HSC Exam 2021 Update: Mode of Evaluation
As for the mode of evaluation, she said that a retrospective assessment model can be considered to decide on the students. With admissions to most of the professional courses through entrance examinations, she shared that “EXPERTS are of the view that it is possible to evaluate the performance of a class 12th student based on a retroactive assessment model.
