Massey University New Zealand and National Institute of Fashion Technology sign MoU to collaborate on Sustainable Fashion

Massey University New Zealand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Fashion Technology to collaborate in the area of Sustainable Fashion. The Memorandum of Understanding which was signed at the New Zealand High Commission is in line with the continued efforts of New Zealand to strengthen its educational ties with India.

The memorandum of understanding between the College of Creative Arts at Massey University, New Zealand and the National Institute of Fashion Technology, India will be a base for the discussions around the staff and students exchange programme planned along with the research agendas which are considered to have great potential with respect to the collaboration and international research.

Claire Robinson, Vice-Chancellor, Massey University, New Zealand while speaking to the media stated that the College of Creative Arts values the Prime Minister’s Scholarships for Aisa Programme and also commends the entire team for facilitating the opportunity for the students to collaborate with the National Institute of Fashion Technology for addressing the sustainable fashion design which is one of the societal challenges of the present age.

Both, the College of Creative Arts and the National Institute of Fashion Technology are collaborating as part of the sustainable fashion team project – Make Fashion Circular: A New Sustainability Paradigm which will have eight students from Massey University participate with the students of the National Institute of Fashion Technology to develop the concepts of innovative circular solutions for fashion design and production.

The project and all the related visits will be captured on film by the students of Massey University Creative Media Production in order to create a sustainable fashion documentary.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology is a pioneer institute in fashion education providing professional human resources to the textile and apparel industry.
