The Odisha medical admission procedures have begun its second leg from today for the admission in MBBS and BDS courses. The second round for the admission in MBBS and BDS course has begun from today. The second round for the admission into MBBS and BDS courses is conducted to fill vacant seats at various medical colleges in the state. The admission process has started today and will continue till August 18th, 2018. The admissions are being conducted to fill vacant seats at eight medical and two dental colleges of the State. The second round of admission was conducted from 10 am to 1 pm at SCB Medical College and 2 pm to 5 pm at MKCG Medical College in Berhampur.
There are some vacant seats available at these colleges. If any seats remain vacant after the second phase admission it has been decided that a spot counseling will be conducted between August 21 and 22. The first round of counseling for the admissions in the MBBS, as well as BDS courses, took place from July 5th to July 9th. All the students who got admission in the first round of counseling started attending classed from August 1st, 2018.
As per the sources, about 989 students from the state and 130 students under the All-India Quota seats took admission during the first phase. In the second round, the fate of many other students who haven’t got the admission yet will be decided. Medical is considered to be a comparatively difficult examination to crack. Every year, CBSE conducts the NEET examination for all the medical aspirants all over the world to bring them a little closer to their dreams. It was earlier notified that from 2019 the examination of NEET will be conducted twice a year but now this idea might get scrapped by the HRD ministry. Although till date, there is no final word out regarding this.
