The Mizoram state government has postponed the class 12 board examinations once again. According to media reports, the Mizoram state government has decided to conduct the class 12 pending board examinations from July 1, 2020, onwards.
The Mizoram Board Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate examinations for the remaining arts, science, and commerce streams were supposed to be conducted from June 16, 2020, onwards as per the revised schedule. The board had postponed the class 12 examinations due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in the country.
As per reports the Mizoram Board class, 12 examinations will now be conducted between July 1 and 3, 2020. The examinations have been postponed as the state government imposed a complete lockdown until June 22, 2020, in the state.
As per the data available, there are close to 4,700 who could not complete their class 12 board examinations for the subjects including Economics, Chemistry, Sociology, Computer Science, and Home Science.
The Mizoram Board had earlier announced that the board examinations will resume from April 22, 2020, which attracted a lot of opposition from students stating that there will be inconveniences faced by the students amidst the nationwide lockdown.
The board authorities have since postponed the examinations after appeals were made by the central government not to conduct the exams due to the lockdown.
Reports also suggest that the Class 10 compartmental examinations will also be conducted on July 1, 2020.
The board examinations across the different states were postponed since March 20 due to the COVID-19 lockdown imposed. The examination although has been resumed by some of the states while the others have already completed the schedule.
