Madhya Pradesh state government has suspended online classes for the Government and Non-government school students except for those in classes 10 and 12. The decision to suspend the classes was taken considering the rising COVID-19 cases in the state which has affected the students and teachers. The online classes will be suspended from May 1 to 31, 2021. The School Education Department in Madhya Pradesh announced the news on their Twitter account.
The Madhya Pradesh School Education department suspended the online synchronous learning programme under which the schools were conducting the online classes for the students since July 2020. The class 10 and 12 students will however continue attending the online classes.
According to an official notification, the present COVID-19 situation in the state has caused tension and stress among the students and due to this the online class conducted since July 2020 will be suspended from May 1 to 31, 2021 for all the students except the class 10 and 12 students.
The notification further states that all the government and private schools under the CBSE, ICSE, and state education boards except the class 10 and 12 students will not be conducting online classes.
MP Summer vacations
The state government earlier announced early summer vacation for the schools in the state from April 15 to June 13, 2021. The summer vacations were announced for the students from class 1 to 8. The MP Board class 10 and 12 examinations have also been postponed. The exams which were scheduled to be conducted from April 30 and May 1, 2021, have been postponed due to the COVID-19 situation.
