Noida School Fee Hike Row: As per the latest update, schools based in Noida and Greater Noida have been asked not to hike their school fees any further during the upcoming academic year i.e. 2021-22. The decision has been taken by the district administration owing to the COVID 19 pandemic situation. According to a recent order passed by the District Fee Regulation Committee (DRFC), schools operating in Gautam Bhuddha Nagar district have also been directed to charge fees only on monthly basis and not force or insist payment of fees on quarterly or half yearly or yearly basis.
Decision Taken at DRFC Meeting
The decision not to allow any further hike or increase in the school fees for academic year 2021-22 was taken by the state government at a DRFC meeting held recently. The meeting was chaired by District Magistrate Suhas L Y on 16th March – Tuesday. The meeting saw detailed review of the existing fee structure and held discussions and deliberations on pertaining to annual fees increment reported by the schools for the academic year 2021-2022 and other issues.
Decision taken due to COVID-19
The decision to not allow any further change in the school fees for schools located in Noida and Greater Noida, was taken by the state government keeping in mind the prevailing situation about the Coronavirus pandemic. The committee has reviewed the current pandemic situation and other overall situation prevailing and unanimously decided that for the academic year 2021-2022 no fee increment shall be permitted and all the schools are directed to charge the fees prevailing in the academic year 2020-2021 only (which is not more than the fees charged in academic year 2019-2020), the order stated.
The order further advised all stakeholders that due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, invocation of National Disaster Management Act 2005 is still continuing and all the schools are advised to strictly follow the directions of the DFRC and the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in this regard.REGISTER FOR RESULTS UPDATES
