The National Testing Agency or NTA has declared the full schedule for the GPAT 2019 examination on their official website that is nta.ac.in. The registration portal for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2019 Examination will be active from October 22, 2018. Along with this, the NTA will be conducting the NEET 2019, JEE 2019, UGC NET 2019 AND CMAT 2019 entrance examinations.
The NTA has mentioned on their official website that “This test facilitates institutions to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into the Master's (M.Pharm) program. The GPAT is a three-hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session. The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy are also given on the basis of the GPAT score.”
Eligibility criteria for GPAT
- All the aspirants should be holding a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates)
- The students who are in the final year of B Pharmacy course are also eligible to apply for the examination.
- The B Tech (pharmaceutical and fine chemical technology)/equivalent students are not eligible to apply for the exam.
It has been informed by the NTA that the duration of the GPAT 2019 exam will be three hours and a total of 125 questions of four marks each will be asked in the GPAT 2019 exam. There will be negative marking as well. As per the sources, a total of 841 institutions took part in GPAT 2018, offering about 24,096 seats for candidates.
The National Testing Agency also known as NTA has been established as an autonomous and self-sustained testing body to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.
