NTSE stage 2 exams: The National Talent Search Examinations 2019-20 second stage will be conducted on February 7, 2021. The examinations were earlier scheduled to be conducted on May 10, 2020, but were postponed. According to the details provided, close to 2,103 students qualified for the NTSE Scholarship examinations and the NCERT in 2019 the number of NTSE Scholarships has doubled from 1000 meritorious students.
Scholarships Awarded
The NCERT in a statement has mentioned that 2000 scholarships have been awarded in the country with the reservation of 15 percent for SC, 7.5 percent for ST, and 27 percent for other backward classes. 4 percent scholarships have also been awarded to students with benchmark disabilities. The 2000 scholarships are awarded at different stages of education and for the students of classes 11 to 12, the scholarship amount has been set to Rs. 1,250 per month.
The scholarship amount for the undergraduate and postgraduate and the Ph.D. programmes is Rs. 2000 per month as per the UGC norms.
The NTSE scholarship exams are conducted every year in two stages. The first stage exams are conducted for the students at the state-level in which the students shortlisted are invited to participate in stage 2 of the exams or the national level exam conducted by the NCERT. The students who qualify in the second stage will be eligible for the scholarship.
The first stage of NTSE for the 2020-21 exams will be conducted on December 12 and 13, 2020 while the second stage exams will be conducted on June 13, 2021.
